ESTANCIA LA PAZ
This is a perfect place for a retreat of a couple of days while visiting Argentina and it’s only about 700 km from Buenos Aires.
This historic place was built as a holiday venue for our former president Mr. Julio A. Roca, back in the XIX century. The park was designed by Charles Thays, and it is a privilege to spend some time having a coffee under one of the many ancient species of trees that you can admire within the park. Surrounding the park you will find an artificial lake where tourists sometimes go with canoes.
If you like sports the place offers a wonderful 18th hole golf course, in very good condition with beautiful views surrounded by hills. If you are lucky to play a low handicap and your tee is the black one you will enjoy a completely different course as the views from several tees are absolutely amazing. If you don’t hit from the black tee make sure you stop for a picture or just to enjoy the view.
If you go during the right season you might also find some polo games or practices taking place at the Estancia.
You can stay in one of the many rooms, very old and stylish as the Roca suite, or the brides’ suite with a mix of old style with a touch of modernism. These are the top rooms. The rest are a bit simpler, smaller but very well decorated where you will feel comfortable and cozy.
Around the area you will find many Estancias to visit in a historic tour called Estancias Jesuitas and many wineries too.
The weather is very mild which helps a lot. I would highly recommend this place just to relax with family or couple or to organize a golf getaway with friends.
